Home-style Mexican Rice

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 25 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • 2 teaspoons chicken bouillon granules
  • 1 tablespoon dried onion
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper (to taste)
  • 1 1/4 cups rice
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro (optional)

Recipe

  • 1 combine water, bouillon granules, onions and all spices in a 2 quart pot.
  • 2 bring to a boil and add rice.
  • 3 reduce heat to low, cover and cook until rice is tender and water is absorbed, about 20-25 minutes.
  • 4 remove from heat, stir in cilantro and serve.
