Fettuccine With Cream Nutmeg Sauce

Total Time: 25 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 lb fettuccine pasta
  • 1/3 cup butter or 1/3 cup margarine
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup wine
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons chopped italian parsley
  • 1/3 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • salt and pepper

Recipe

  • 1 cook the fettucine in boiling salted water until just cooked or al dente (until somewhat firm texture is reached).
  • 2 drain well.
  • 3 melt the butter in a large skillet.
  • 4 saute the garlic for 1-2 minutes over very low heat.
  • 5 add wine to butter& garlic.
  • 6 simmer for 5 minutes.
  • 7 add the sour cream, whipping cream, nutmeg and italian parsley.
  • 8 heat cream and sour cream mixture until very hot but not boiling.
  • 9 add parmesan cheese.
  • 10 season to taste with salt& pepper.
  • 11 pour hot sauce over hot fettucine and toss.
  • 12 sprinkle with additional parmesan cheese and chopped parsley, if desired.
  • 13 serve immediately.
