Homemade Flour Tortillas

Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup shortening
- 1/2 cup very warm water
Recipe
- 1 place flour, baking powder and salt in a large bowl. cut in the shortening, and mix until it resembles course crumbs. add the water a little at a time, mixing with a fork until the dough pulls together. form as many 2 in balls from the dough as you can. cover and let rest 20 minutes.
- 2 preheat a dry skillet. roll each ball out on a lightly floured surface. cook about 30-45 seconds on each side. keep warm by placing them in the folds of a clean dish towel. recipe can be doubled to freeze.
