J's Amazingly Delicious Wonder Thunder Meat Sauce!

Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 10 garlic cloves (minced)
- 1 medium yellow onion (chopped)
- 2 lbs italian sausage (1 lb. sweet & 1 lb. hot)
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 2 (6 ounce) cans tomato paste
- 1 (28 ounce) diced tomatoes
- 2 (15 ounce) cans tomato sauce
- 3 teaspoons basil
- 3 teaspoons parsley
- 4 tablespoons brown sugar
- 3 teaspoons salt
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup red wine (merlot or cab)
- 1 splash beer
- 2 tablespoons of freshly grated parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1 lb spaghetti
Recipe
- 1 1. in large, heavy stockpot, heat up olive oil
- 2 2. add onions and garlic to saute'. continue to cook, stirring occasionally until onions are softened.
- 3 3. take out sauteed onions and garlic & brown the sausage (out of casing).
- 4 4. once meat is browned add garlic and onions back in pot.
- 5 5. add tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato sauce and water.
- 6 6. add basil, parsley, brown sugar, salt, crushed red pepper, and black pepper.
- 7 7. stir well and barely bring to a boil.
- 8 8. stir in red wine and splash of beer.
- 9 9. stir in flour & parmesan cheese (for added thickness).
- 10 10. simmer on low, stirring frequently for at least an 1 1/2 hours a longer simmer makes for a better sauce, just be careful not to let it burn!
- 11 11. cook spaghetti according to package directions.
- 12 12. spoon sauce over drained spaghetti noodles and sprinkle with parmesan cheese.
