Granny Cake 2

Total Time: 55 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 40 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup condensed milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Recipe

  • 1 mix first 5 cake ingredients in a large mixing bowl. pour into a 9/12 greased glass cake pan.
  • 2 mix pecans and brown sugar and sprinkle over top of batter.
  • 3 bake for 35-40 minutes at 350 degrees. don't overbake.
  • 4 while cake is cooling, in heavy saucepan heat all topping ingredients to a rolling boil. boil for 1 minute then pour over the top of cooled cake in cake pan. (this will look like a mess, but the cake soaks up the liquid and makes a frosting.).
  • 5 store in refrigerator covered.
