Homemade Spaghetti

Ingredients
- Servings: 6
- 1 (12 ounce) package pasta (whichever you like!)
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 lb ground beef
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 1 green pepper, diced
- 1 (14 ounce) can diced tomatoes
- 1 (14 ounce) can stewed tomatoes
- 1 (4 ounce) can tomato paste
- 1 cup water
- 2 chicken bouillon cubes
- 1/8-1/4 cup brown sugar (1/4 c. makes for a sweeter sauce)
- 1/2 tablespoon oregano
- 1/2 tablespoon basil
- 1/4 cup freshly chopped parsley
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
Recipe
- 1 in a large pot boiling water, add a pinch of salt for flavor & add pasta. cook according to package directions. drain & set aside.
- 2 while pasta is cooking, in a large skillet add oil. once oil is hot, add ground beef, onions, garlic & green peppers. cook until ground beef & cooked thoroughly & onions are translucent. drain.
- 3 add ground beef mixture back into skillet & add tomatoes, tomato paste, water, chicken bouillon cubes, oregano, basil & brown sugar. stir. bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. reduce to med. heat to bring the sauce to a simmer; cover with a lid & stir occasionally for about 10 minutes.
- 4 on a large platter, place pasta & then top with spaghetti sauce. top with grated parmesan cheese & parsley. serve with a salad & garlic bread.
