Grits And Shrimp

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 4 cups cooked grits
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt, smoked
  • 2 tablespoons parsley, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup mild cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 tablespoon extra vergin olive oil
  • 1 red onion, chopped
  • 1 red bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 green tomato, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon cajun spices
  • 4 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon mustard powder
  • seasoned pepper (to taste)
  • 12 ounces frozen shrimp (bag/30-40ct)

Recipe

  • 1 after cooking grits to directions on the package, add the salt, parsley, cheese, and butter. stir to mix well.
  • 2 while grits are cooking prepare shrimp sauce.

  • 4 heat oil in a skillet and saute onions, bell peppers, tomato, and garlic for 4 minutes until the veggies are tender.
  • 5 add cajun spice, chicken broth, worcestishire sauce,dry mustard, and pepper, and shrimp and cook for 5 minutes on a medium heat.
  • 6 spoon grits on a plate or place in a bowl.
  • 7 spoon the shrimp mixture on top of the grits and serve.
