Harvest Paella With Shrimp

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 3/4 cups water
  • 6 1/8 ounces , near east original rice pilaf
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
  • 8 ounces medium shrimp, peeled and devined
  • 1 cup canned black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 medium tomato, chopped
  • 1 -2 tablespoon chopped fresh basil

Recipe

  • 1 in a 3 quart saucepan, bring water just to a boil. stir in rice, contents of the spice sack, olive oil, turmeric, and hot pepper sauce.
  • 2 cover and reduce heat to low. simmer 10 minutes.
  • 3 stir in shrimp. cover and simmer 15 minutes more.
  • 4 stir in beans, peas, tomato and basil. cook 5 more minutes until heated through.
