Hungarian Goulash

Ingredients

- 3 lbs boneless beef roast, cut in 1 inch cubes
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/4 cup oil
- 3 cups sliced onions
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 (10 ounce) can beef broth
- 4 quarts water
- 3 teaspoons salt
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 9 cups wide egg noodles
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon poppy seed
- 1 cup sour cream
Recipe
- 1 toss meat with flour to coat.
- 2 in dutch oven, brown meat in oil until well browned on all sides.
- 3 add onions, paprika, salt, pepper and beef broth.
- 4 cover and cook on low for 1-1/2 hours.
- 5 bring water, salt and oil to a boil; add noodles and cook for 8 minutes.
- 6 drain and rinse under hot water.
- 7 toss cooked noodles with butter and poppy seeds.
- 8 stir sour cream into meat mixture.
- 9 cook on low until heated through, stirring constantly.
- 10 serve goulash over noodles.
