Home Alone Mac & Cheese

Total Time: 20 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 1
  • 1 cup dry elbow macaroni
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 6 slices cheddar cheese (torn into pieces)

Recipe

  • 1 place 4 cups water in a pot & bring to boil.
  • 2 when boiling, add a half teaspoon salt to the water, add pasta & cook for 7 minutes.
  • 3 while pasta cooks, place cold milk & cheese in a pan & put over medium low heat so that the cheese melts slowly but do not boil.
  • 4 when pasta is done, drain & add to sauce & stir together over medium heat for a minute or so or until the thickness is to your liking.
  • 5 notes:.
  • 6 any additions should be cooked or warmed in the pan before adding milk & cheese.
  • 7 the better way to make mac & cheese is to make a roux with a teaspoon each of flour & butter but i have no problem with the cheese lumping if i use the soft processed sandwich cheese that everyone keeps in the fridge.
