Hoisin Barbecue Sauce

Total Time: 25 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 3/4 cup rice wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon fermented black beans
  • 1 teaspoon minced fresh garlic clove
  • 3/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 1/4 inches fresh gingerroot, cut into 5 1/4-inch coins
  • 2 star anise pods
  • 1/2 orange, zest of

Recipe

  • 1 in a small saucepan, combine all the ingredients.
  • 2 slowly simmer for 15 minutes.
