Hoisin Barbecued Chicken

Total Time: 9 hrs 20 mins Preparation Time: 8 hrs 30 mins Cook Time: 50 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 2/3 cup hoisin sauce
  • 3 tablespoons rice wine or 3 tablespoons sake
  • 3 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 2 lbs chicken pieces, skinned and trimmed

Recipe

  • 1 combine first 6 ingredients in a bowl. place 3/4 cup sauce into a large bowl; cover and chill remaining bbq'd sauce.
  • 2 add chicken pieces to bbq sauce and coat. cover and marinate in refrigerator 8 hours or overnight.
  • 3 preheat oven to 375. remove chicken from bowl. place on a broiler pan coated with cooking spray. bake at 375 for 30 minutes.
  • 4 turn chicken; baste with the reserved marinade. bake an additional 20 minutes or until done.
  • 5 discard marinade. bring remaining 3/4 cut bbq sauce to a boil in a small saucepan; reduce heat and cook until slightly thick. drizzle chicken with sauce.
