Iraqi Pink Rice Plow Ahmar

Total Time: 45 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups rice
  • 1 (4 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 4 tomatoes, large chopped
  • 1/4 cup cilantro, minced for garnish
  • 2 stalks celery, diced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons dill weed
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Recipe

  • 1 heat olive oil.
  • 2 add onion; fry until translucent.
  • 3 add washed rice; stir 2 minutes.
  • 4 add tomato sauce, tomatoes, celery, salt, dillweed, pepper and garlic powder.
  • 5 add 3 1/2 cups water.
