Carob Brownies

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup brown rice flour
  • 1/2 carob powder
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 2 eggs, separated
  • 1/2 cup sulphured molasses or 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Recipe

  • 1 mix flours, carob powder, and salt together in a large bowl.
  • 2 in a small bowl combine egg yolks, molasses, oil, water, and vanilla.
  • 3 add to the flour and mix well.
  • 4 add nuts and stir.
  • 5 beat the egg whites until stiff and fold into batter.
  • 6 spread in an oiled 8 inch square pan.
  • 7 bake 25-35 minutes at 325°f.
