Carob Brownies

Ingredients

- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 cup brown rice flour
- 1/2 carob powder
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 2 eggs, separated
- 1/2 cup sulphured molasses or 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 1/4 cup oil
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Recipe
- 1 mix flours, carob powder, and salt together in a large bowl.
- 2 in a small bowl combine egg yolks, molasses, oil, water, and vanilla.
- 3 add to the flour and mix well.
- 4 add nuts and stir.
- 5 beat the egg whites until stiff and fold into batter.
- 6 spread in an oiled 8 inch square pan.
- 7 bake 25-35 minutes at 325°f.
