Easy Pilau Rice

Ingredients

- 1 ounce butter
- 1 cup basmati rice
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 bay leaf
- 4 green cardamom pods
- 4 cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon fennel seed
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups boiling water
Recipe
- 1 melt the butter in a saucepan.
- 2 stir in the rice until it is coated in the butter.
- 3 add the spices and salt.
- 4 add the boiling water.
- 5 cover with a tight fitting lid, and simmer on the lowest heat for 15 minutes--do not stir in the meantime.
