Easy Pilau Rice

Total Time: 17 mins Preparation Time: 2 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 2
  • 1 ounce butter
  • 1 cup basmati rice
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 4 green cardamom pods
  • 4 cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon fennel seed
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups boiling water

Recipe

  • 1 melt the butter in a saucepan.
  • 2 stir in the rice until it is coated in the butter.
  • 3 add the spices and salt.
  • 4 add the boiling water.
  • 5 cover with a tight fitting lid, and simmer on the lowest heat for 15 minutes--do not stir in the meantime.
