Brazilian Rice

Total Time: 35 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup tomato, chopped
  • 1 cup long grain rice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups water or 1 1/2 cups broth

Recipe

  • 1 wash and drain rice.
  • 2 set aside.
  • 3 saute onion and garlic in olive oil until soft.
  • 4 add tomatoes, rice, salt, pepper and water or broth.
  • 5 bring to a boil.
  • 6 bring heat to medium.
  • 7 cook until all bubbles on surface have disappeared.
  • 8 cover and cook on low heat for 20 minutes.
