Irene's Tamale Pie

Total Time: 50 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 2 cups cream-style corn
  • 2 cups tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups pitted black olives
  • 3/4 cup oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 (4 ounce) can diced green chilies
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup yellow cornmeal

Recipe

  • 1 in a large bowl, place everything except the milk, eggs, and cornmeal; boil for 20 minutes, stirring often to prevent sticking.
  • 2 add the milk, eggs, and cornmeal; mix well.
  • 3 pour into a large casserole dish.
  • 4 bake at 325 degrees for 1/2 hour.
