Grandma's Stuffed Peppers

Total Time: 2 hrs 30 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 2 hrs

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 4 green bell peppers
  • 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup rice
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 diced onion
  • 1 (10 3/4 ounce) can condensed tomato soup
  • 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (15 ounce) can stewed tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup water

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350.
  • 2 mix first 8 ingredients well.
  • 3 cut green peppers in to quarters (or thirds - depending on size of peppers).
  • 4 fill cut peppers with the meat mixture.
  • 5 in a dutch oven, mix the tomato soup, tomato sauce and stewed tomatoes.
  • 6 add the additional 1/2 cup of water
  • 7 arrainge filled pepper in the bottom of the pan.
  • 8 spoon sauce over pepper.
  • 9 cover and back foe 2 hours.
