Healthy Multigrain Protein Waffles

Total Time: 45 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 1/2 cups old fashioned oats or 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
  • 3 tablespoons sugar or 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon ground flax seeds (optional)
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 6 tablespoons oil
  • 1/2 cup cottage cheese
  • 1 cup reduced-fat milk

Recipe

  • 1 mix the dry ingredients well in a large bowl.
  • 2 mix the wet ingredients well in a medium sized bowl.
  • 3 add the wet ingredients to the dry, mix until just combined.
  • 4 grease pre-heated waffle iron.
  • 5 spoon 1/2 cup of batter into waffle iron at a time to cook.
