Ingredients
- 1 lb fresh okra
- 1/2 cup onion, chopped
- 2 tablespoons shortening
- 1 (12 ounce) package smoked sausage
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 (10 ounce) can rotel tomatoes
- 2 cups rice, cooked
Recipe
- 1 wash and slice okra.
- 2 fry okra and onion in hot shortening until okra is no longer slimy( about 15 min ).
- 3 cut sausage into 1/2 " slices and add with salt and tomatoes.
- 4 cover and simmer 20 minute.
- 5 serve over rice.
