Crispy Wheat Crackers

Total Time: 20 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 cups wheat flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • melted butter
  • coarse salt
  • sesame seeds
  • poppy seed (to garnish)

Recipe

  • 1 heat oven to 350°f.
  • 2 mix flours, sugar, soda, salt.
  • 3 stir in buttermilk and oil.
  • 4 shape dough into 6 balls.
  • 5 roll each ball into a 9 inch square on a lightly floured cloth covered board.
  • 6 cut into squares or rough strips depending on the shape you want.
  • 7 brush with butter and place on ungreased cookie sheet.
  • 8 sprinkle with course salt and sesame or poppy seeds.
  • 9 bake 8-10 minutes or until crisp and golden.
