Garlicky Yellow Rice

Ingredients

- 1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 1/2 cups onions, chopped
- 1 3/4 cups long-grain rice, uncooked
- 6 garlic cloves, crushed
- 3 3/4 cups water
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- green onion (optional)
Recipe
- 1 heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat.
- 2 add onion, and saute 7 minutes or until tender.
- 3 add rice and garlic; saute 2 minutes.
- 4 add water and next 3 ingredients; bring to a boil.
- 5 cover, reduce heat, and simmer 23 minutes or until liquid is absorbed.
- 6 garnish with green onion tops, if desired.
