Greek Pasta

Total Time: 35 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 lb ground sirloin or 1 lb ground turkey
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/3 cup dry red wine
  • 2 tomatoes, diced
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 8 ounces penne or 8 ounces rigatoni pasta
  • freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • salt and pepper

Recipe

  • 1 heat oil in heavy large pot over high heat.
  • 2 add meat and onions and saute until brown and season with salt and pepper.
  • 3 reduce heat to medium and add cinnamon, cayenne and cloves and saute 5 minutes.
  • 4 add wine, tomatoes and tomato sauce and simmer until thick.
  • 5 better if it sits overnight and is rewarmed.
  • 6 serve over cooked pasta.
