Italian Restaurant Baked Ziti

Total Time: 1 hr 5 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 35 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1 lb ziti pasta
  • 12 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 3/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 8 ounces mozzarella cheese, cut into 1/2 inch cubes

Recipe

  • 1 preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • 2 cook ziti in a large pot of boiling salted water until
  • 3 tender but still firm, 10 to 12 minutes.
  • 4 drain and rinse under cold running water;
  • 5 drain well.
  • 6 in a medium bowl, combine
  • 7 ricotta cheese, eggs, 1/2 cup parmesan
  • 8 cheese, salt, pepper, and parsley. mix to
  • 9 blend well.
  • 10 toss cooked ziti with 2 cups
  • 11 marinara sauce.
  • 12 place half the pasta in an
  • 13 9 x 13 inch baking dish.
  • 14 top with ricotta
  • 15 mixture and half the mozzarella cubes.
  • 16 top with remaining ziti, marinara sauce,
  • 17 mozzarella, and parmesan cheese.
  • 18 bake until casserole is heated through and cheese is
  • 19 bubbly and lightly browned on top, 30 to 35
  • 20 minutes.
