Italian Restaurant Baked Ziti

Ingredients

- 1 lb ziti pasta
- 12 ounces ricotta cheese
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 3/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 3 cups marinara sauce
- 8 ounces mozzarella cheese, cut into 1/2 inch cubes
Recipe
- 1 preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- 2 cook ziti in a large pot of boiling salted water until
- 3 tender but still firm, 10 to 12 minutes.
- 4 drain and rinse under cold running water;
- 5 drain well.
- 6 in a medium bowl, combine
- 7 ricotta cheese, eggs, 1/2 cup parmesan
- 8 cheese, salt, pepper, and parsley. mix to
- 9 blend well.
- 10 toss cooked ziti with 2 cups
- 11 marinara sauce.
- 12 place half the pasta in an
- 13 9 x 13 inch baking dish.
- 14 top with ricotta
- 15 mixture and half the mozzarella cubes.
- 16 top with remaining ziti, marinara sauce,
- 17 mozzarella, and parmesan cheese.
- 18 bake until casserole is heated through and cheese is
- 19 bubbly and lightly browned on top, 30 to 35
- 20 minutes.
